Summary & Objective

A 2-month program designed to impart design thinking and making skills and mindsets to 100 young female vulnerable students in Singapore between 12 to 16 years old.

Problem Statement

How might we meaningfully engage vulnerable students while expanding their worldview and career options?

• Mentorship with JPM volunteers and interactions with SUTD student facilitators who serve as positive and inspiring role models for them
• Creation of a structured approach to develop soft skills (empathy for all, appetite for ambiguity and pitching) with hard skills (STEM, design innovation, and 3D printing)
• Working on real-world challenges where the opportunity statements are inspired by UN sustainable development goals

Outcomes

All student KPIs were exceeded:
